Core: Lighting the Fire
Wonder why your new years resolutions have failed in the past? I’ll tell you why mine have. They lacked the nuclear powered core to carry it through to reality.
It doesn’t matter what your next New Years Resolution is, or that the ones past have failed. This Blog is headed down that Rabbit Hole, and I am putting my credibility on the line as a coach and consultant to lay out the very center of my coaching model: The Resilient Path Mindset.
Not only that, but I am going to walk the talk. I am going to come clean on my personal failings in my own efforts to make lasting changes in my fitness/wellness goals.
What I am doing:
Piece by piece I will walk through the assertion of the RPT Mindset model. As I do, I will also be documenting my New Years Resolution, and that is to make the final push to put together my primal living and primal workouts to push to my fitness and wellness goals.
It all starts in your mind. So, being that new years is right around the corner, lets get at it so we have a jump start on that Resolution, maybe you can even start a day earlier.
Components:
• Vision – You have to develop a clear vision of what you want to achieve in a “Be, Do, and Have” context. Goals and plans must be set.
• Responsibility- Cut away blaming others, or surrendering goals to circumstance. You own your life, and you are responsible. Period.
• Drive- You have to want it like air. How do we ignite our drive and thrive mechanisms in pursuit of our vision.
• Alignment- Are you working against yourself? Have you got hang-ups and burrs slowing or stymieing your progress. Work them out.
• Courage- Can you convert your mental game into reality, or will your work turn into “shoulda, coulda, woulda”? Sending your plan to your soul for processing and shipping takes courage.
So, our journey begins:
Step 1: Vision. Take the next day or two to come up with a vision of your New Years Resolution. What is it really? What do you want to accomplish? How will it feel to accomplish it? What will your life be like afterward?
Do the groundwork, and be specific.
I will walk through this with my personal effort, and show you how I will be doing it. Vision is the first step. If you don’t know where you are going, how will you know when you get there?
Back tomorrow with Vision…..
