Fear is not weakness: Rob the Bully of his power

Fear is not a sign of weakness.  So often it is interpreted that way because it brings with it the shaking lip, akin to beginning to cry, or a flush feeling in the skin, and that gosh awful pit that forms in your stomach and the burning in your throat.  That isn't weakness people, that is pure, bio-fueled strength.

Don't for one second believe that you are weak because you are afraid.  A bully, or a predator would love for you to buy into that.  That feeling is caused by adrenaline, cortisol, norepinepherine, and all sorts of bio engineered chemicals entering your bloodstream to make you faster, stronger, and more survivable in the face of what the brain sees as a threat to your safety.  It's a gift.  Embrace it as strength.

It feels awful, and it may make you act in ways you don't see as cool, or strong.  Heck, for some people, it may even make them wet their pants.  That fear response gets you every ounce of help to your muscles to get you through.

Embrace the strength inherent in fear, and you can use it to your favor.  Don't let a bully make you feel weak or worthless because you are afraid.  If anything, fear makes you stronger, and should concern a bully greatly, because it makes you more dangerous.  We wouldn't want to mess with a scared animal, would we?  Humans are no different.

When you feel awful during that time of fear, remind yourself, you are as strong as you have ever been right now.  Accept the discomfort as strength!
